Teaching Philosophy

I believe the most important part of my job as an instructor is to understand each student as an individual, including their learning styles as well as goals and aspirations, to develop a truly unique learning experience and help them develop musically and personally. All students deserve to be nurtured and challenged no matter what their end goal with the clarinet may be.

FAQS

How long will each lesson be?

  • a typical lesson is 1 hour (feel free contact me for half hour or other options)

What will we work on?

  • I strongly emphasize the importance of having great fundamentals, so lessons will include a focus on studies to improve tone, expand technique, and develop musicianship (long tones, scales, articulation, etudes)

  • Repertoire choice is flexible and can definitely be catered to student goals (All-State, Solo & Ensemble, college auditions, etc)
